Developing Policy on Ultra-Processed Foods
The 'Bioeconomy Changemakers Festival' is a collaborative initiative between the European Commission (DG Research and Innovation) and the Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors. Scheduled from March 11 to 17, 2024, the festival aims to involve youth in driving transformative change for addressing current challenges in Europe and unlocking the bioeconomy's potential.
The Bioeconomy Changemakers Festival includes a high-level event in Brussels on March 13-14, 2024, targeted at bioeconomy stakeholders, policymakers, and interested youth. Additionally, over 30 satellite events across Europe will enable youth participation and contribute to gathering views for updating the Bioeconomy Strategy and Action Plan.
HDHL Satellite Event
HDHL is hosting a virtual satellite event “Youth-Policymaker Dialogue: Developing Policy on Ultra-Processed Foods” on March 15 from 9:00-12:00 CET.
The objective of HDHL’s Virtual Satellite Event of the EC Bioeconomy Changemaker Festival 2024 is to facilitate the dialogue among policymakers and young researchers in the health and food sectors, with the ultimate aim of generating policy recommendations. This dialogue spans the local, national, and European level to contribute to food systems transformation keeping in mind the benefits for human health. The event centres on ultra-processed foods.
The event will also feature a career session aimed at delving into the diverse and inspiring career paths of experienced policymakers and bioeconomy experts. Participating students, early career professional, and early career scientists will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn from those who have successfully paved the way in the fields of bioeconomy, food systems, and health.
