Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forestry (MASAF) was established in 1946. Key departments include the Department for the Coordination of European and International Policies and Rural Development (DIPEISR), the Department of Competitive Policies, Agri-Food Quality, Fisheries, and Horse Racing (DIQPAI), and the Department of the Central Inspectorate for the Protection of Quality and Fraud Repression of Agri-Food Products (ICQRF). Additionally, the ministry oversees the Carabinieri Command Forestry, Environmental, and Agri-Food Units (CUFAA) and the Maritime Fishing Department of the Harbour Master's Corps.

In collaboration with vital affiliated bodies such as the Agency for Agricultural Disbursements (AGEA), the Council for Agricultural Research and Analysis of Agricultural Economics (CREA), the Institute of Services for the Agricultural Food Market (ISMEA), and the Ente Nazionale Risi, Italian Telematic Commodity Exchange (BMTI), the ministry plays a central role in promoting and regulating various sectors. Emphasizing food sovereignty, agricultural competitiveness, and sustainable forestry practices, the ministry is instrumental in shaping policies that impact the nation's agricultural and forestry landscape.
