From plan to action: Insights year 1 of CSA HDHL Food4Health

Key Activities

• To start, we held our Kick-off Meeting at the beginning of the year in Paris. It was nice to meet everyone in person for the first time and to turn the work plan into concrete action.
• After that, it was up to the work packages to bring the actions into life. This resulted, for example, in the development of the Food4Health logo our branding guidelines! The results will be shared  soon, so keep an eye on our website and social media channels.
• A Strategic Board has also been established to advise our project during the runtime of the project. A first meeting with the Strategic Board is scheduled in the coming months, and we will announce the members of the Board shortly.
• Additionally, a first physical event for Early Career Researchers from HDHL and beyond was organised in Brussels. It was a fruitful meeting in which Early Career Researchers worked on their skill development and grant  writing. It was also a way to network and connect with  Early Career Researchers in the different networks. Plans for future activities to connect with other Early Career Networks are already underway.
• An inventory was also made to analyse different funding mechanisms and streams. These outcomes are highly relevant for future HDHL calls and more broadly  for the wider European funding landscape. Preparation for a future call are currently under development and will be announced as soon as more information is available.
• Back-to-back with the HDHL Joint Board meeting in Dublin, we also facilitateda  workshop to set priorities for future HDHL activities and actions. Based on national priorities gathered before the workshop, an analysis and prioritization was being done with national funding organisations, ministry representatives, researchers, and other stakeholders.

Looking ahead

Alongside these fruitful events, work is progressing on case collections that will lead to a compendium of best practices. A stakeholder collaboration plan is also under construction, aimed at widening the HDHL network.
