Results of METADIS projects presented at final symposium in Paris

METADIS final symposium poster
In 2019, JPI HDHL and its ERA-Net HDHL-INTIMIC organized a call for research projects aimed at better understanding the impact of diet, food components, and food processing on body weight regulation and metabolic diseases related to overweight. The results of the funded projects were presented during a final symposium held on December 5th at ANR headquarters in Paris, France.
Alll projects seem to have achieved the initial objectives, and the results exceeded expectations.

METADIS Symposium

The symposium was organized as an in-person event, bringing together 26 researchers from 10 countries (CA, CZ, DE, ES, FR, IT, NL, NO, SE, UK), and four representatives of the funding organizations. Three members of the JPI HDHL scientific advisory board (SAB) were also present to assess the scientific impact of the call. In addition to the formal presentation of the project results, a significant part of the day was devoted to informal discussion and networking.

Early Career Researchers

Seven early career researchers were invited to pitch their scientific contributions to senior scientists and funders during informal rotating 10-minute presentations. The efforts made by the funded projects to improve the soft and hard skills of the early career scientists involved in their project were also particularly appreciated (Network of Early Career Scientists, summer school, mobility).
