STAMIFY call: Joint Projects' Kick-off Meeting initiated possible collaborations

On June 2nd, 2022, 60 participants gathered online for the ERA-Net HDHL-INTIMIC STAMIFY Joint projects' kick-off meeting. The consortia of the 6 funded projects were strongly represented in this event, with about 75% of the attendees. Involved funding agencies were also present (9%) and the remaining 16% of the participants were mainly members of the HDHL SAB & SHAB and the Scientific Evaluation Committee of the STAMIFY call. The objective of this activity was to bring together the project researchers at the start of their projects, giving them the opportunity to introduce their projects to the other STAMIFY consortia and other interested parties.

After an HDHL INTIMIC introductory presentation with information on the reporting process, the coordinators of the six funded projects (BiomarKid, DIETARY DEAL, INTEGRActiv, PlantIntake, VEGANScreener and WEALTH) presented their projects with a focus on benefits of the project’s transnational structure and the role of stakeholder(s) and end-users within their project. After each presentation all participants were free to ask questions.

Several synergies between the different projects were revealed during the meeting. This motivated the researchers to build collaborations between the different consortia. The coordinators agreed that the ICDAM 2023 conference and/or the FENS 2023 conference would be a great opportunity to gather and set up a discussion moment for the STAMIFY projects. More specific, there was also lot of enthusiasm to connect young researchers.

To wrap-up the meeting, the call secretariat informed the consortia that HDHL is making serious efforts to maintain the Early Career Network that was established in the ERA-HDHL Policy Evaluation Network (PEN) with the aim to open it to all early career scientists within HDHL projects.
