Last changed:

In January 2020, the JPI HDHL launched PREVNUT, the 5th call organized under the umbrella of ERA-Net ERA-HDHL to promote collaborative international research on nutrition and health.

The PREVNUT call aims to address important research questions regarding the prevention of undernutrition in older citizens through the consumption of appropriate nutritious food. This call for projects was supported by 11 countries and 14 funding organizations.

At the closure of the call postponed to May 12th, 2020 due to the COVID19 pandemic, seventeen proposals were successfully submitted, representing 97 participants. After a remote evaluation and rebuttal phase, the scientific evaluation panel met digitally on September 2st.

The evaluation process resulted in the funding of six projects for a total budget of 5,96 millions of Euros. The funded projects involve thirty-one research groups from France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Norway, Spain and United Kingdom. Nine collaborators, who will participate to the funded projects using their own resources, are also part of the research consortia. These collaborators are from Belgium, Germany, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, and Norway.

The national negotiations for funding are ongoing and the projects are expected to officially start early 2021.
