SYSTEMIC Scientific event
The first physical meeting of the Systemic project was organised on the 28 and 29th of September, 2022 at the Ministry of Agriculture in Rome, Italy. “This is the first occasion, after COVID restriction, in which partners have the opportunity to meet each other in person and discuss about the progress of the Systemic project. I will not hide the difficulty for this project in constantly maintaining the interest high, however, we are here now and partners seem to interact well with each other and the atmosphere is very positive and encouraging” said Prof. Marco Bindi from University of Florence, one of the project co-coordinators.
It is a pleasure to see that most partners are here for this 2 day-meeting with the desire to collaborate in this project.
60 people enjoyed the meeting from the 8 countries involved in the project. During the meeting each Work Package leader presented their activities done until now and the future steps for concluding the project.
During the discussion, some lack of knowledge and highlights were discussed among Work Packages regarding:
- climate change data;
- new remote sensing approaches;
- genetic resources of crops resilient to climate change;
- new food alternative as protein sources;
- diet sustainability and;
- diet for specific population, how to standardise databases on food intake and food composition.
By now, 38 papers are produced under the Systemic project with very interesting outputs available on the Systemic website. Moreover, 9 events were organized such as webinars and workshops, for different target audiences and in 16 conferences the project results were presented.
