On Monday, November 27th, the Joint Programming Initiative on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change (FACCE-JPI) and Healthy Diet, Healthy Life (HDHL) organised a joint workshop on vertical and horizontal coherence for sustainable food systems. The topic was: “The (im)possible coherence? – Science-Policy, Blockages and Transformation”
Atherosclerosis causes CVD via plaque buildup. HDL/apoA-I reduces risk by removing cholesterol. While gut microbiota is linked to atherosclerosis, whether apoA-I/HDL modulates the microbiome—and if an imbalance drives disease—remains unexplored.
In the realm of research, achieving tangible impact is no easy feat. Shedding light on this, the recent Impact Assessment conducted between February and June 2023 provides valuable insights into the level of impact and knowledge utilization accomplished by projects funded under ‘Healthy Diet, Healthy Life (HDHL). All projects funded within the HDHL-INTIMIC cofunded call are finished. The call on “Interrelation of the INtesTInal MICrobiome, Diet and Health” was launched in 2017 as part of HDHL-INTIMIC. It was co-funded by the EC, aiming to fund transnational research projects that address the causal relationship of diet, the intestinal microbiome and health.
